Relationship status: pre-slash
Word count: ~2,100
Plot: romance, holidays, UST
Summary: A Christmas coda to "Whom Gods Destroy." Namely, to that thing Spock implied he could do during Marta's dance recital. Not as cracked out as it probably should be. Written for the K/S Advent calendar, and as a gift fic to Spodiddly. Merry Christmas, everyone! :D( Third advent entry, yaaaaay!Collapse )
So I was thinking a little about TMP earlier. I know, big surprise. One day I need to do a long-form essay on this beast.
I think it's fair to say one of the most prominent themes in this movie is connection. Completion. The search for meaning in a random, uncaring universe.
We K/S shippers are fortunate in that so much is spelled out for us, and The Search for Spock is no exception. Between "the noblest part of myself," "as surely as if it were my very own," "the cost would have been my soul," "Jim... your name is Jim," and Spock playing the damsel in distress, there's enough blatant slash hardtack to feed this ship for decades.
But sometimes what strikes me about this movie the most are the things left unsaid. Two incidents in particular stand out, occurring before and around the brunt of the action, both of which involve people around Kirk and Spock assuming things.( Because hyperanalyzing these movies is second nature to me...Collapse )
Relationship status: first time
Word count: ~7,000
Plot: crack, humor, romance
Warnings: Oodles of (non-explicit) penises. Enough crack to kill a hippo.
Summary: A little linguistic confusion goes a long way when the Enterprise runs into a ‘penal colony.’
A/N: Dedicated to the lovely folks who occupy T’Lara’s Cinema of Squee every weekend and spawn plot bunnies from the depths of hell. And eimeo, because I can’t resist her puppy dog eyes and she knows it. And micathemineral, who was kind enough to beta on short notice!
( This idea got waaaaay out of hand...Collapse )
- Current Mood: weird
Genre and/or Pairing: Dean/Castiel pre-slash
Spoilers: through 8x02
Word Count: ~2,000
Summary: Dean prays. And works through some baggage before he runs into Benny.
- Current Mood: giddy
Plot: Brief domestic fluff followed by some porny goodness. Set earlier in the same timeline as “Communication,” but they're independent stories (The Jim and Spock Prime’s Kinky Adventures ‘verse? If I hit three of these, it’s getting a tag.) Written for my spanking kink bingo square, for K/S Day, and for cannedebonbon, because I’ve been promising her more of this pairing for months. YES I’M TRIPLE-DIPPING, DEAL WITH IT.
- Current Mood: bouncy
Betas: eimeo, marlee813, and manghahabi
Character/Pairing(s): Kirk/Spock, Kirk/Female OCs
Word Count: ~23,000
Warnings: UNHAPPY ENDING, but canon functions as a fix-it (specifically TMP)!
Summary: As the Enterprise's celebrated voyage winds down, the tension between her captain and first officer escalates, and three days aboard Jupiter's premier lunar station will change everything. Jim doesn't handle change very well. Slow-build, character-study prelude to the Lost Years and TMP.

A/N: Major thanks to my betas eimeo, marlee813, and manghahabi! They all kept me motivated and whipped this story into shape - I wouldn't have made it without them. Special shout-out goes to eimeofor inspiring this idea in the first place (hooray for plot bunnies born out of comment discussions)! Also, my artists are amazingly kickass, and I strongly suspect they've ruined me for every future Big Bang I could participate in. You guys have brought this story to life in ways I never imagined! :D
